'I LOVE YOU'...'GOOD BYE'

People come and go, like feelings that we really never knew that was there for that certain someone.  And the moment you realize that that person is who we are looking for it’s too late.  But all of it can be prevented, if only we had cherished them while they were still by your side.

Six people, six friends.  They had always been by each others’ side no matter what.  But when the feelings of ‘loving’ one of them burst out, what will you do?  Most specially if the feelings are directed to you?

That’s what happened to Jin and Junno.

They are two of the six friends.  Junno, always being the one to be kicked or made fun off was in love.  In love with Jin.

Nobody noticed this. He was good at keeping it.  He made sure that he was never caught, being one of the closest to the said person.  They were not neighbors.  In fact, Junno live the opposite side of their village.  Not all of them live closely, to say the least, but not too far too.  But Junno lived the farthest from Jin, yet always offers to take him home when they came from a fight or a night of drinking.  He was still the closest, so nobody gave it any bad thought.

But as time flew by, Jin caught up to Junno.  Asking him as to why he keeps taking care of him, when he should be taking care of himself.  He was the weakest among them, in their group.  He just smiled and said, “No one’s going to, but me.”  And will be on his way.

Jin became confused, but still continued being on his playboy ways.  He was gorgeous man.  All of them were gorgeous, but he is the most handsome of all.  And he knew this.  Boys and girls wants him, wants to sleep with him, wants to have him.  And he is not one to ignore such pleas, specially the good looking ones.

He never noticed the hurt in Junno’s eyes every time he kisses someone new.  Every time he tells his stories of sleeping with other people.  The latter will just smile, not giving any comments, but will be given a hit on the head for he will try to insert in their conversation a joke of his.  A joke that no one appreciates.

Jin likes Junno’s jokes really, but he can’t let his image be damaged by laughing at one of his jokes.  He is a cool guy, a smart guy, a tough guy.

Junno was a gorgeous guy. A tall, always smiling guy.  When you see him, you will feel light and free.  His energy radiates from his smile and attitude.  He is actually smart, but no one knows this, for he lets them think that he can be easily pushed around.  He lets them.  As long as they, specially Jin, will give him attention.

He is kind of dumb when you think about it.  Why?  He lets them treat him that way.  Junno came from a large family.  And because of the so-called ‘thug’ of friends he has, they stopped caring for him, even if he explains they were not like that.  They never cared anymore.  And he turns to his friends.  Atleast, they needed him.

And that’s when he fell in love with Jin.  He was always needed by the other.  Almost a slave, but still, he was needed.

One evening, when he took Jin home from being drunk, that was the night he was discovered.  His feelings for the other.  He gave him a peck on the others’ forehead before heading out.  Little did he know that it was Jin’s idea to discover the real meaning as to why Junno always looked after him.  Why he caught Junno one time crying in the rain after being seen with a new guy he was kissing.  Why Junno was always there for him.  Why Junno too much effort of caring for him.

Junno eventually told the truth. “I Love You.”  And the other was just shocked and didn’t know how to respond. Junno walked away after that.

The next time they saw each other, Junno still acted like it never happened, but Jin changed towards him.  And it affected Junno so much that he wanted to kill himself.

Days past and Jin put up a wall between them.  He grew further away from Junno.  He can’t love his friend.  He can’t hurt his feelings.  He can’t lie.  It is the most decent thing he can do to his friend.

Junno caught up to this too easily.  He knew that the night he confessed, is the night things will change between them.  But seeing the wall being put up little by little each time they gather together, it makes it harder to breathe the same air.  So he decided to leave.  He left everyone.  He left Jin.  The hurt has to stop sometime, right?

It took Jin a couple of weeks to notice that Junno never came back to them.  It took so long to see that Junno finally left them.  And no one in their group knew why, except him.

He can’t understand himself, after knowing the information from his family.  Junno left so he could work far away. Too far to be reached, too far to be held.

It took Jin too long to realize that he loved the other.  And that he does care form him deeply the way Junno felt for him.  And now that he was gone, Jin’s heart broke. He can't do anything about it.  And the only way to put his heart back together is, and if, Junno comes back to him.

But it was too late.  Much too late.  “He didn’t even say ‘Good Bye’.”
